Independent study

Directed study in over 60 languages (Albanian to Yoruba) using tapes and/or software in the Linguistics Language Program lab.

Distance learning

Videoconferencing with a teacher and students at another UC campus. Languages vary by quarter but have included Finnish, Swahili, Swedish, and Uzbek.

IR/PS Language Program

Courses primarily for IR/PS students in languages of the Pacific Rim (Latin America and Asia).

Programs Abroad Office

Information on language programs abroad, either through UC’s Education Abroad Program or UCSD’s Opportunities Abroad Program.
